Service Update – 14th March

Fantastic result from the Kevin Edward Costs team today:

We acted on behalf of a regular client of ours and dealt with a low value holiday illness case that settled pre-issue with a single medical report. The Defendant naturally raised issue with the Bill and put forward a maximum global offer of just £2,584.64, stating the costs were disproportionate.

We won the assessment comfortably and in fact beat our own Part 36 recovering the 10% uplift in addition to the maximum amount of Detailed Assessment costs.

The Defendant then challenged the outcome of the Provisional Assessment and requested the Court re-consider the issue of Proportionality.

This further hearing went ahead last week, which we again won!

Therefore our costs awarded were upheld as being proportionate.

The bill as served totalled £6,676.52 and we ended up recovering total costs of £7,160.56 for our client including £1,585.00 assessment costs.

Needless to say, our Client was ecstatic!
